MEINL Doumbeks come from the same geographical points of origin as the darbukas, and are a favourite choice of drum for percussionists world-wide. Our doumbeks feature an ergonomic, Egyptian-style rounded rim with internal tuning lugs and a synthetic head. The bearing edge is carefully machined to assure consistent tuning. The doumbeks are well suited for fast finger-roll techniques and have a strong projection.

Our new aluminum doumbek (HE-3018) comes in a ornamental hand graving and produces snappy mid east sounds. The doumbek includes a carrying bag, spare head and a tuning key.

The Djembe is the most popular African drum. Even first time players are quickly able to draw different tones from this great instrument.
The NINO Deep Sea Designer Series Djembe (NINO23DS) has a diameter of 10" and a height of 21" and is the perfect drum for children in kindergarten or elementary school. It is easy tunable and comes in a very attractive design.

The new MEINL Napa Heads add a whole new flavor for the low-end drums. The heads feature a two-layer construction with a strong, thin mylar (plastic) underlayer, and a soft Napa surface, securely bound together in a metal hoop. The thicker surface layer dampens and softens the attack, while eliminating any unwanted higher frequencies. They are easily switched with our traditional surdo heads for a very different sound, lending a kind of surging or swelling feeling to a groove.

We created a new Tambourine that can go anywhere!

Our Touring Tambourines feature our new True Feel synthetic heads which maintain its tuning despite fluctuations in humidity. The tambourines have black plated steel jingles which are high in pitch, bright, and have a good sustain.

The new HEADLINER Series Congas (HFC10BK, HFC11BK, HFC12BK) now come in premium fiberglass! This material has long been used for congas shells because of its durability and resistance to climactic changes, while offering a full spectrum and brilliance in sound.

Each conga comes with handselected buffalo heads, 8 mm strong tuning lugs, original MEINL style tuning brackets, 2 mm rounded rims, black powder coated hardware, height adjustable basket stands (patented) with quick set up system and a tuning key.

...so we came up with our new kalimba (KA9WW-BK) with a body-oriented sound hole in place of the traditional style. You can create a great wha-wha effect by simply bouncing the kalimba body on and off your belly as you play. The position is comfortable and natural, while the sound gets shifted in creative ways.
